Vintage Native Boars Tusk & Beaded Necklace

A few years ago I purchased this 'Beaded Tusk Necklace' at a private estate sale being held by a close friend of the woman who had passed away. I purchased several interesting pieces of jewelry at this sale and talked a bit with the lady who was holding her friends estate. I mentioned that the woman had quite a variety of jewelry and different items, she told me the woman had been very 'well to do' and had traveled throughout the world during the 1950's and 1960's and mentioning this woman had gone to Hong Kong and several asian countries as well.
The above is all I can tell about the history of this tusk necklace. It was probably purchased by the woman during one of her travels and brought back, but as for age and exactly where it came, from I have no idea. Advanced collectors of native dress & adornments probably know much more than I, so if interested look closely at the photos and use your own knowledge as to the origins and age of this necklace.
I'll describe the necklace as much as I can, but collectors know more than myself, so my following description may be inaccurate.
This tusk and beaded sea shell (?) necklace measures 9" from a handmade 'closure' to the joinery above the tusks, or simply put, it is a necklace
18" long
. The total overall width of the tusks is 4" and the height top to bottom of the tusks is 3-1/4". The right side tusk has some damage to the end which could have happened during the boars lifetime or perhaps during the hunt.
This vintage, primitive necklace is a real item that I think would have probably been worn everyday and was not made for ceremonies. I think this is an authentic piece of everyday native wear, again my own thought, but I think a ceremonial necklace would have been made much grander.

I think the necklace beads were hand made with oyster/sea shells, and from what I read, have been used for centuries on native adornments like this. These are not modern beads, knowing that this necklace is likely 60-70 years old or perhaps even older, depending on how old the necklace was when she purchased it.
If you collect native adornments, this is an opportunity to add to your collection.
Shipping is USPS First Class. A signature will be needed to receive. It will be shipped in a box that likely will not fit into a smaller mailbox and 'porch thieves' are increasingly stealing packages left at front doors. If you have someone available to take in your package or you feel secure it won't be 'taken', please let us know in your 'Buyer note' and we'll ship without signature.
