This is a very unusual item, a tourist's guide to the country of Vietnam before it was torn apart by war. It was printed by the Viet-Nam Embassy in DC and the last year on its historical timeline is 1959.
There are many black and white photos and maps, and the descriptions of the country's charms are really lovely and lyrical. It sounds like a paradise! The charms of its people, natural waterways and hunting grounds, wonderful food, etc, sound very enticing.
There are 42 pages and the size is 8 7/16" x 5 1/2". The colors are bright and crisp.
A very nice way to remember this country pre-war.
