Loos & Co 3-346-R Swaging Tool
Each Loos & Co. #3-346-R swaging tool is designed to work with stop sleeves and oval sleeves. You will not obtain proper performance if you do not use the proper Loos & Co. swaging tool and sleeve combination. All sleeve compressions must be gauged (see Figure 5) to assure maximum holding strength, and it is recommended that all completed assemblies be proof-tested.
Your Loos & Co. #3-346-R swaging tool has been designed to give you years of trouble-free service. To obtain the best possible performance, we recommend:
Clean and lubricate all moving parts regularly;
Keep all bolts tight;
Keep your swaging tool properly adjusted using the following simple procedure:
Each #3-346-R swaging tool is supplied with a gauge. Select the slot in the gauge corresponding to the sleeve size being compressed. The compressed portion of the sleeve should pass into the gauge easily. If it does not, then adjust the swaging tool as follows:
With the handles apart, use a 3/16” Allen wrench to tighten the set screw in the handle ¼ turn. Then compress the sleeve and check the “after swage” diameter with the gauge. Continue this procedure until the compressed portion of the sleeve passes easily into the gauge.
