Vintage Carved Wood Tiki
Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this awesome, carved wooden tiki god statue or sculpture. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This tiki has a lot of personality. It is made from an unknown wood type, possibly monkeypod. It is approximately 27 1/2 inches tall, 8 3/4 inches long, and 7 1/4 inches wide. Unpacked, it weighs 13 pounds 8.1 ounces. It will make an awesome addition to a Hawaiiana collection.
Identification
This piece has no markings, and I do not know where it was made or by whom. It is believed to be vintage, though the exact age is not known.
Condition
The tiki looks good overall. It has been recently waxed with furniture wax. It has light wear, including some minor scuffs and scratches. There are a few fine splits in the wood. There is minor flaking and staining around the basal edges. There are a few shallow 1/8 inch to 3/16 inch diameter holes (to the shoulder, jaw, and thigh) of unknown origin. The wood has lighter and darker areas. As made, there are knots and flaws in the wood, and the carving is rustic in nature. 1. Payments
Taxes may be applicable. The correct shipping address must be included with payment. Contact the seller before bidding or buying to find out about acceptable payment methods for local pickups or deliveries. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.
2. Shipping
Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not necessarily included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller usually ships on Mondays and Thursdays. The merchandise will normally be shipped on the seller's next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier.
Shipping includes delivery to a physical address via a method of the seller's choice. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping costs may be required. At the seller's discretion, a signature may be required for delivery.
Shipping quotes must be requested prior to all international bidding or buying. For international shipping, there may be parcel size restrictions or prohibitions on certain classes of merchandise. Customs forms will not be falsified.
International buyers, please note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when the item is picked up; do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.
