    Description

    Ellis Jack Wrench 4 x 4
The Ellis Jack makes leveling of shores and purlins simple. The Jack grips the wood of the lower shore member and the upper shore member is raised about one inch per stroke through the lifting pressure of the cam at the anchored end of the Jack handle.
    SPECIFICATIONS for 4x4 Hand Jack
    ITEM#: H-4
    Handle Length – 12”
    Weight – 17 lbs.
    Frame Opening – 3-3/4”
    Max. Lift – 2000 lbs.
Material: Permasteel (hardened malleable) for better wear and longer life. GRIPPING SURFACES (ON ORIGINAL DESIGN): Pivotal plates with serrated surfaces.
The Ellis Jack is used in conjunction with Ellis Methods to level forms used in concrete construction. Only a few Ellis Jacks are needed around the job – one for each 100 Ellis Shores.
One worker, using the Ellis Jack, can level shores by themself. He/She simply holds the Jack by the handle with one hand, slips it onto the lower shore member just below the bottom of the upper member, using his other hand to guide the back plate into position. Then jacks the handle one stroke, which raises the upper member and the form it is supporting about 1-inch. Then jars the back plate loose and slips it up into position for the next stroke. Time required for each stroke is about 5-seconds. A story pole and level line may be used for measuring story height to which form must be adjusted.
NOTE: The Ellis Jack is not used for lowering the shore. This is done by simply tapping Shore clamps loose one at a time with hammer and then using both ends of the hammer to lift each clamp away from the wood simultaneously. The 4x4 Hand Jack should NOT be used for lifting loads of over 2,000 lbs. (such as forms and concrete which require correction).
