    Description

    Old Bulul rice god statue, hand carved (from a solid piece of lightweight wood) by the Ifugao (headhunter tribe) people of the Phillipines.  These figures are placed in their coveted rice fields, in order to oversee and protect them.  This piece stands 8.5" tall, and is decorated with a seed necklace and earrings, feathers, and a woven multicolored cloth sash.  It is in very good condition, with a nice patina.  As seen in Ripley's Believe It or Not! museums.
