For optimal protection against damage from rodent chewing, we offer steel core tension cable as an alternative to monofilament wire.  Like monofilament, this wire will support the top and bottom of your deer fence for a professional look, and protect the vulnerable bottom edge from chewing and digging; however, steel core consists of PVC-coated 8-gauge galvanized aircraft cable, braided from seven strands of seven wires.  The steel cable is completely chew-proof, excellent for fencing applications where smaller garden pests are extremely active and non-steel wire may fail.  The PVC coating matches the color of the poly fence and extends the longevity of the steel by protecting it from weather exposure.  Steel core tension wire is the strongest tension wire offered by DeerBusters.com, and is recommended for use where chewing is a continual problem.  Also, consider using steel core tension wire where added strength may be necessary in the fence—for example, where tree limbs may fall or rest on the fence line.
Steel core tension wire is offered in lengths of 333 feet, 666 feet, 1,000 feet, and 3,000 feet for your convenience.  Steel core tension wire is compatible with all 8-gauge connectors and tighteners.
