Description:
The Paper and Paperboard Cob Absorb ability Tester is a special instrument for the determination of the water absorption of paper and board surfaces. Its main technical specifications and performance parameters are in accordance with ISO 535 "Paper and Cardboard - Determination of Water Absorption - Cobb Method" and QB /T1668 "Ke Bo absorption tester" relevant provisions.
This instrument is
mainly used to measure the amount of absorbed water on the surface of sizing paper and board under the conditions specified by the standard.
Loose paper (such as newsprint paper), unsized paper (such as blotter paper), and other highly absorbent papers are
not suitable
for this instrument, Other test methods and instruments should be used.

Sample Preparation and Processing
:
1. According to GB450 and GB10739 take samples and processing.
2. Cut the treated specimen into a circular test piece with a diameter of 125 mm (recommendation of a dedicated Kappa water sampler is recommended).
Test
:
1.Weigh the cut circular sample mass g1 with a scale with a resolution of not less than 0.01g.
2. Loosen the locking knob counterclockwise, remove the lid, and pour 100ml±5ml of distilled water or deionized water at a temperature of 20°C±1°C into the cup.
3. Put the sample on the cup mouth and cover it with a cup lid. Tighten the locking knob clockwise to press the cup lid. Hold the knurled cap from the left hand. Shake the handle with the right hand to make the cup mouth down and put the knurled down. Cap positioning is locked and the start of the stopwatch starts.
4. According to the selected test time, lift the knurled cap in the time recommended in the table below to remove the remaining water, turn the cup to the top and lock it, quickly loosen the locking knob to release the cap, remove The sample, at the instant of completion of the water absorption, is placed on the absorbent paper that has been prepared on the bottom of the instrument with the side in contact with the water, and then is covered with another absorbent filter paper, and the pressure roller is used without pressure in the 4s. The back and forth pressure is applied once and the remaining water on the surface of the sample is sucked dry. One of the samples in contact with water was folded inwards and the mass g2 of the sample after the absorption was promptly weighed.
PS: The international standard recommends the removal of residual water and the total test time for water absorption.
